Marvel Zombies

Marvel Zombies

They played it safe. The premise of the series had what it takes to scale up in its insanity similar to something like Gurren Lagann or something. It, technically, did try to do that: it started with a small group, which moved to a bigger group, then to group with gods, then to space, and even beyond. But it was not leaning into the insanity of it all as much as it could have and should have.

無職の英雄 別にスキルなんか要らなかったんだが

無職の英雄 別にスキルなんか要らなかったんだが

Another "gotta catch them all skills". Kind of bland, overly light and already has what looks like a plot hole. Or maybe just an omission? Or inconsistent rules? The sister says she is older one, but then it does not look like she has a class selected for her. The whispers during the ceremony also suggested that the boy was the first child getting a class blessing without any references to "

Chapter 16:

Why did the the party that found a path to 3rd floor got targeted, though? Aren't they supposed to be strong? But more importantly, can someone explain to me what are those fluffy circles or whatever, that are drawn on like every 3rd panel and sometimes even more frequently?Fluffy circle

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Meh. I like how the origin story is shown as a retrospective documentary. Not only does it save time, but also does some world-building by establishing the relationship between the team and the city. Galactus looks somewhat good, maybe even cool. Until he sniffs a tree. That's just weird. But other than that... Totally forgettable.

This is not a bad movie, but I do not think it has any hooks in it

Binance: No VPN

Binance: No VPN

Technically, this post is a bit different from the others in the same section. It's not that I had some issues with customer service or tech support from Binance. In fact, on the screenshot below, you will be able to see that it was fine. But... The whole conversation made me think, that I may need to find another platform.

You can read the whole conversation on the screenshots, but here's the gist

Proton

Proton

Why did I even start using Proton products?

I think the first one wasVPN. When I moved to Finland some Russian sites either stopped working or were flaky. I was using ZenMate, but it was not working with Russian servers. Proton was recommended, I tried it, it worked, I started using it. Support for torrents was a bonus: I do sometimes download games that do not have demos, so I can try them before

OP Representative Assembly

OP Representative Assembly

On August 28th, I applied for OP Uusima's election of Representative Assembly. I am stillsaltyabout OP, but I still use it, and someone inSpecialists in Finlandchat asked if anyone is applying, and I do have some thoughts... So I applied. Even though it's unclear fromthe page, what it will even entail, and what real power (if any) the assembly will hold, but... I thought, that at the least, I

Goblin Slayer Gaiden: Year One

Chapter 52:

Thanks to this spin-off spending too much effort on writing down thoughts for every single character (even though we do not care about), after a couple of latest chapters I am convinced, that Goblin Slayer has not only PTSD (which is understandable) and OCD, but also Autism and ADHD. He needs routine, overthinks and pays attention to every little thing (autistic traits), as well as

Wednesday (Season 2)

Wednesday (Season 2)

They Riverdaled this show at x5 speed. Or TeenWolfed at x6 speed. It's not likefirst seasonwas extra-ordinary, but it felt unique enough, and was... "Tight" in terms of narrative. Or, at least, tighter than the 2nd season. 2nd season felt like I was watching some kind of old cartoon for children age 5+ or something, but for teens, because of more mature references and scenes. Exactly like

怪獣8号 第2期

怪獣8号 第2期

Episode 8:

Once again it reminds me of AoT, now in a sense that there is a set of episodes that are a preparation for something much bigger and wilder. With way less politics, though, which seem to help dynamics a bit. I am not sure I like how every character seems to be special, though, unlike AoT. In AoT most of characters were "regular" people, they were just good at something, and bad at

Stop Killing Games

Stop Killing Games

Games are art. If you have someone telling you they are not - I encourage you to re-evaluate your relationship with that person. Yes, there are games, that are... Trash, let say it as it is. There are some contentious and controversial ones as well, but while anyone can produce art, not everyone can producegoodart.

Games are also a source of money. Sometimes huge amounts of money. People like

Левиафан (2014)

Левиафан (2014)

Movie about nothing. I mean, technically, there is a plot, but it's more like a bunch of situations, that tied together, trying to survive. Which does depict life in russia quite accurately. Considering that the movie does succeed in certain level of authenticity of the atmosphere, I am not even surprised, that it just re-affirmed my reluctance to ever return to russia, even though I know, that I

GYLT

GYLT

I don't get it why the game is called "GYLT", but then there is no real exploration of guilt. Yes, Sally, our protagonist, is supposed to feel guilty, because her younger cousin Emily was bullied, and Sally, at least, did not try to stop it. There was even one instance, which can be seen as Sally bullying Emily herself. Not really, but she still was not nice, and the context makes the situation

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest

Chapter 125:

Not only do they have index search in this library, but also tags search, or maybe even content search. Why don’t we see more advanced tech, if they can do this?

Upload (Season 4)

Upload (Season 4)

I think they pushed for a happy ending a bit too hard. On the other hand, the show has been mostly light-hearted from the start, so maybe that's expected. Evil AI worked well in the narrative, though.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Meh. The subtitles thing in the beginning was funny. Maybe a couple of jokes through-out the movie were fine, but not that good by modern standards, I think. I do get that this probably would have been hilarious 50 years ago, though. Today - it's not my thing.

Descendent (2025)

Descendent (2025)

This was a descend for sure. Into waste. Of time.

Yeah, the pun does not work that well, but the same can be said about this movie. Honestly, average slice-of-life 4-coma anime adaptation has more plot than this one. It's not like it's not there at all, but so much that it does not lead anywhere. They will edge you, while you are at the edge of your seat, but then you will get absolutely nothing.

The Bad Guys 2

The Bad Guys 2

It's just fine. Similar to original, really. Some things are funny, some are not (there are fewer of those), plot is mostly predictable, but animation is quite good. If you want something light-hearted and light-minded for an evening - this will fit the bill. Tarantula is also the best character, and deserves much more screentime for how fluffy she is.

Superman (2025)

Superman (2025)

It felt like a parody. And I think that's what made it work.

No, seriously, some moments felt closer to what you can see in "The Boys", for example, which is specifically aimed at laughing out the absurd aspects of comics about super-heroes. New Superman is definitely less dark and gory, but still things are more... "Grounded" here. Even more grounded than they were inThunderbolts, because that

Peacemaker (Season 2)

Peacemaker (Season 2)

Quite a solid start for the season. They did not even need to add an orgy to the episode, really.

Alien: Earth

Alien: Earth

There is definitely some... Atmosphere here. Not everywhere, only in some scenes, but when you see it - you see it, and it can feel reminiscent of the original movie. But is it enough to cover up all the stupidity of the plot? Seeing reviews, I guess it is, but I guess those people prefer women with tons of makeup as well, so that could explain some things, too.

Quite a few people said that the

Charlotte

Charlotte

This manga is definitely worse than anime. But reading the manga made me realize, that maybe the anime was not that good as I [kind of] remember it, and as people said it was. I mean, the structure of the store is extremely uneven with most of the plot happening closer to the end. And then what is happening there is... Half-assed? I remember that anime made certain moment feel heavier, and

夢中さ、きみに。

夢中さ、きみに。

I guess this is meant to replaceKaraoke Iko. Or is it even a prequel, considering how Nikaidou looks somewhat similar to Kyouji. In this show it's a bit less subtle that this is a romance. I think. But probably at the cost of the plot. At least with Karaoke there was some specific goal, while this show is more of a set of [almost] unrelated episodes in the lives of the 2 boys. Either way, not my
