Am I stupid? I saw quite a bit of praise for this short, but for me it felt quite like an empty burger. It looks great, and there was definitely some love into the background of it all, but... What's the point of the story, in the end? That you can become family and home to each other without blood relationship? Or that working in an office is hard? Or that sometimes you just need to leave your nest to grow?
There is definitely a lot of things happening on screen, but they do not provide a cohesive enough story. And showing 2 separate timelines in the beginning only adds confusion, even though it is meant to highlight similarities of 2 actions of 2 people. Unfortunately, since we do not know the reasons behind those actions, behind them leaving their nests, it feels somewhat of a shallow comparison. This probably needs to be a bigger story with way more exploration of things.
