Even though I know first hand what suicide ideation is, nothing wrenched my gut watching first episode. Until mother's hand on Marina's face.

I understand why Takopii is the way he/she/it is, but I wonder how they will leverage it. So far he/she/it just annoys me. "Just be happy" kind of mentality does not help in real life. Yes, you probably want to strive towards it, in a sense, but you can't really force it on someone in any way. Takopii seemed to get an inkling of that in the episode, which is good, and even though he was secretly helping, he/she/it did not deny the fact, which is also good, because now Shizuka knows she has an ally.

My point is this is a very difficult topic for an anime, and for a story in general, that's very easy to screw up. it can become too unrealistic (like "Magical Girl Website", for example, although there is was kind of the point), or even outright harmful, if bad advise is shared. Unless negative consequences of bad advise are shown, which is kind of what happened already. And BTW, I would say both "plot twists" were kind of predictable, which is another flag telling me that the narrative is really easy to screw up here.

But, of course, we'll see how it goes. I hope that it will be able to deliver a good and grounded message.

Episode 2:

BTW, why have not Takopii tried to use that "make-up rope" or whatever? Or did I miss that somehow?

Episode 3:

Why the ring? It felt random to get it. No rhyme or reason. And no "you can do that" mentality, that was being forced here does not work for this. Because what’s the purpose of stealing the ring in the first place?

I did not feel anything from Takopi, when it was crying in regret for killing Marina. Felt like they were crocodile tears and not something stemming from real emotion.

Why didn’t they cover the coffin fully? That felt stupid. And why couldn’t they reduce its size for that matter? If they could increase it, surely they could decrease it, as well.

Episode 4:

Now even less sense that they did not burry her properly, yet removed fingerprints. Removing fingerprints would be a way more complicated process, after all, compared to just digging a deeper hole and bringing in more earth, sand or whatever.

Episode 6:

What kind of bullshit ending was that? Shizuka lashing out was good, it felt natural, almost justified, and it would make sense to continue in the same line, but... It went for unrealistic forced happy end, that did not even make sense. Well, ok, it's not really "happy", but still felt forced and is original rules were broken, although nothing really said, that Takopii could not disperse itself somehow to fix a gadget. The use of the camera did not make sense, but ok "it's magic", but then Marina stopping bullying after seeing an image of Takopii? Would a bully really stop in that moment? I doubt it.

Overall the show felt more like a template. We need to show these things, so that we will be perceived as "edgy", "mature", "dark". For a person unfamiliar with reality of bullying at home or at school it probably will be enough. But for those who did have that experience... Not so sure. For me it ended up feeling shallow. Possible, that stuff was thrown away in the adaptation, or maybe something was intentionally changed to make it less dark. Whatever the case may be, it had less impact on me, than it could.

Aside from that... Some people just should not have children. Because those people will only spread more misery. Please, don't do that.
