本稿では，MMORPG「ファイナルファンタジーXIV」においてプレイヤーが選択可能な種族「ララフェル族」の可愛さについて，身体的特徴と動作表現の観点から分析を行った．ララフェル族の特徴的な外見，すなわちずんぐりとした胴長かつ短足の体型，もっちりとした質感，そして頭部と瞳の大きさに着目し，これらの要素が可愛らしさの知覚にどのように寄与しているかを考察した．さらに，ゲーム内でのエモート（感情表現）機能におけるララフェル族特有の動作の誇張的な表現に注目し，これがララフェル族の可愛らしさをより強調する効果を持つことを指摘した．身体的特徴と動作表現の相乗効果が，プレイヤーの感情的反応や愛着形成にどのような影響を与えているかについても検討を加えた．
