This is what adventurer had to say during it:
Balonie Rigatonie thinks himself a man of mystery... is his name even truly that which he was born with?
He hails from Ilsabard, one of many scattered Lalafell residing in the continent, though this calls into question whether or not Balonie may have some ties to the Garlean Empire. In the infiltration of Castrum Centri, a remark was made on the point that Balonie wore the imperial uniform a little too easily.
Whatever his past, what is known of Balonie today is his occupation as a dragoon of some renown and his penchant for befriending Au Ra adventurers. Balonie is fiercely loyal to his friends and companions, and has a certain affection for Estinien Wyrmblood given their shared love of the lance and time spent fighting and traveling together. He also has a fondness for chocobos, though this is a secret, albeit poorly kept.
Balonie can most often be found between the trees of Gridania or in the woods of the Dravanian hinterlands when not on quests. His love for city life extends mostly to the comfort of a feather bed or the chance to see a friend in the crowd.
He tends toward the disposition of "stab first, ask questions later." Balonie takes his coffee black and bitter, and prefers savory food to sweet. He loves to dance but rarely has occasion to do so. He tends to speak his inner musings aloud, a habit picked up in solitude he's never seemed to break.
Balonie's past may be a mystery, but he's hopeful for the future.
