Power. Growth. Palpable.
Episode 4:
I like Sylphie misunderstood things and let her mind go to the gutter (and fast). Rudy's perversion rubbed off of her, from the looks of it.
Episode 5:
I teared up a bit at Zenith's reactions.
Episode 9:
Nanahoshi's outburst explains why in a lot of stories MC is an orphan or looses parents early on the story. Or if it's an adult - they are alone. Maybe with some friends, but not with close relatives or anyone like that. Not always the case, obviously, but very often. And why is that?
Because there is no attachment.
No attachment means that the character is more likely to take risks. There is nothing holding the author back. They also do not need to explore the thoughts of "how are they living without me?". This is especially true for isekais, where I can only think of Re:Zero, where this became an actual plot-point even. It can also be more important for isekais, because then you can focus more on the "new unknown world", rather than on something mundane and completely familiar.
If MC is a child or young adult it also can be served as a "platform" for growth. Like, "there is no one looking out for me or caring for me, I need to learn things to survive". Even if there is a mentor figure in the narrative, this kind of positioning helps... Well, "position" the character as someone special. Because, let's be honest, majority of people will react similar to Nanahoshi, simply because humans are social creatures.
No idea why I felt compelled to write this. Guess being alone and lacking attachments is pushing me to growth. Hope he author writing me know what the heck they are doing.
