Episode 2:

Don't know where to start even.

So this is, practically a sequel to Little Mermaid, but closer to Grimm's version, rather than Disney. First episode was essentially an abridged version. And a good one, too. It was obviously "magically", but everything felt grounded, and as old(er) characters actually existed in the world and were not just shown to us for the sake of background. It's interesting that Lara was considered part of the family only after she reached the age of 10, though. But maybe that's some translation issue, and it was that she was granted royal power/privileges at the age of 10.

But anyway, the real story starts at the end of the episode, and it starts with a punch. What's interesting here is that the witch has fallen very low and into an aquarium, which is too small for her. I mean, seriously, those small aquariums are good maybe for a couple of neons, for goldfish or whatever the witch has become you need like 30 liters per fish, at least.

It is also interesting, that Mari is able to understand the witch, but who cares about that, when true love is yuri. I mean, it's obvious that it will be the case, right? Right? Although, they may chicken out and just make them very close friends. Also curious, why Lisa thought that it was Lara, that appeared, even though all sisters had a ring. Or is that related to the yuri light?

I am a bit sad, that they seemingly abandoned the "it was me who was vile" thought from the end of the 1st episode. Really hope, that it was not the focus of 2nd episode mostly because Lara was in shock, and that they will return to that in some way. I mean, it was her literal dying thought before reincarnation, it should have a significant effect on her.

But what I am even more sad about are those little sardines, that Lara bit the heads off, while being half-asleep. That was just brutal, they did not deserve that.

Episode 3:

Mari's conflict ended abruptly without real resolution, and even groundwork for that resolution. It was just "oh, yeah, it's fine now". In my eyes that's a significant hit to storytelling. The risks of not fulfilling Lara's goal are already kind of ephemeral, but at least there is a clear motivation. If conflict situations will be resolved same way as with Mari, though... What's even the point of it all?

Episode 5:

Stitches on Lara's tongue make her stand out, since generally it's just a color blob. I think this episode there were more instances of them showing that off.

I also think that  the manager was probably inspired by Professor Snape. Much softer and more open to fit the theme and the role more, but still, had something similar about him.

Episode 6:

Quite a different tone, and different approach to narrative. When I first saw those lights around the bed, I thought it was for OnlyFans or something, but apparently, Lisa also needs to photosynthesize, and not just take drugs. What's worse - yuri-ruiner joined the cast.

So... Luca is likely autistic.

It was obvious that Luca will not be Lara's true love, but I do not feel this push towards Lara+Mari. Not the way they did it in this episode. It feels forced. As in "we were told this needs to happen, and this is the best time as ever". The drama feels even more forced, considering there was not so much interaction between the two in general, let alone "romantic" interaction.

And it's not like they can't end up together. Love can grow very slowly, and it's especially true for a lot of women (and one of the frequent reasons of non-intentional friend-zoning). It's just that here we did not have enough time for that to become a thing.

Speaking of time: have you noticed that there is no strict time limit? It's not "the potion works for X days". Which means that there probably is no real limit, no real hurry. Even though we are told that there is. In every episode. Multiple times. This re-enforces this "forced narrative" feeling, that I have. If there was a clear time-limit from the start, both Lara and Mari would have been behaving much differently, because they would know, that clock strikes at midnight, and they have only 1 hour left.

Maybe this will be clarified later, but I doubt it, since there is a potion and some light that help extend the timeline. There probably be some newer version of the potion that will be more potent or something. But anyway, it all feels like they are using very wrong tools to move the narrative forward. I think that I, probably, won't like the way they get to the end.
