I get her. That's why I do not like those "teasing" anime. Like, why do people find funny, that is often uncomfortable to the person being teased? When it's a friendly tease "in the moment", when you've known each other for years, and everyone is having fun, and this is the dynamic in the group, where you tease each other - maybe. I can see that working in some scenarios. But overall - please, don't. Resist and restrain yourself.

Switching between "regular" style and chibis is very similar to Polar Opposites, but the vibe is definitely different. I think, it's more "serious". I think it even deserves the "Polar Opposites" title more since Koyuki does look like an actual opposite of Minato. Or you can consider Miki's almost split personality there as 2 opposites, too.

Will see, how it goes. It's important for the story not to turn into  Opposites' clone. From narrative perspective it does have the tools not to do that, but author needs to use those tools appropriately and not abandon them.

Episode 4:

Not directly related to the show itself, but something mentioned in it: there was a time, when I considered "pity" the same as "wishing for death". Like if you pity someone, it means you are wishing them death, so that they do not suffer. Because death is the only real way that all suffering can end. If you are alive you will have to suffer in some way, whether you want to or not.

These days... I think it's mostly the same for me, but I think I differentiate between "pity a person" and "pity the circumstances". The latter - that's kind of normal, I think. "I wish the circumstances were more favorable" feels like a natural thought. "Pitying a person", though feels wasteful, at least, because it's just acceptance of defeat of that person in a fight against the circumstances. The only time this can make sense is when you are pitying a terminally ill person, who is actively suffering.

I still think that they are subverting expectations by suggesting that Koyuki will be paired with Yota. I do not see them more than friends.

Also not sure what's that weird reaction that Koyuki had in the end. Even before Yota told her about his mother.

I won't be surprised if both sisters will turn out to be the case of resting bitch face. The younger one is almost a guarantee, but there is a chance of the same being true for the older one, too.

I like how they timed Koyuki widening her eyes with the sound of meat sizzling.

But man... Such a wild ride... And I swear, it's just the rain...

Would have been tough waiting for next season, but we got 2nd season of Polar Opposite to help with that, so it won't be as bad. Looks like next season the pairs start in kind of "reversed" state. In the beginning of 1st season there was tension between Koyuki and Minato and Youta with Miki felt "fluffy". Last episode flipped them. Even if Youta tried to "end this", I do not think it will have the effect he hoped for.
