It started a bit slow. Arguably a bit boring even. I know it's a kid's movie, but... What size of a hole should a vacuum have to be able to suck in a grown squirrel without even damaging it? While also being an actual vacuum. Let alone how would it make the squirrel super-powered?
The movie soon picks up the pace, though and turns into... Any other kids movie. Funny enough, light enough, promoting good values. Vibes reminded me of the 2nd Casper movie somehow, which was one of my favorites as a kid. It was also reminding me some other movie with animal control guy hunting one of the characters, but can't put my finger on which one.
My main problem is the parent's "arc": it just does not make sense. They seem supportive of each other, warm towards each other, even though somewhat distant. Why were they splitting? I understand both jobs being rough and all, but this "conflict" seemed both superficial and forced, considering everything else shown about their relationship.
But if you ignore that, you may be able to enjoy this movie, and your kids probably will like the squirrel, too. And William. He was a silly, but funny addition.
