I think I decided not to watch continuation after season 2. But maybe not, because I did not find my review of it, and I started remembering that when I already started watching this mess. 1st season was great. Not perfect, but mostly because Japanese live-action actors often feel too stiff and/or awkward, especially with complex emotions or situations. But it had drive, it was brutal, but felt... "Fair", I guess? Or at least from what I remember it was.

2nd season continued mostly in the same scope, but at a bigger scale, essentially. Sometimes that was a good thing, sometimes - not so much, but games still were quite interesting. And still brutal. Again, based on what I remember, which may not be much. Honestly, the ending was just fine, as well, so I do not think I even expected another season. But it came nonetheless. And to my disappointment, I guess.

Firstly, the return to the games themselves was kind of... Forced. Which probably makes sense, but it was also boring. Or more like "not that interesting". But that's ok, maybe the games are still good. Most of them are not, to be honest. Train was pure chance, shrine was pure erudite game, with questions that most average people will probably not know the answers to. Tower and kick the can were purely physical, giving trained people an advantage (whether it worked or not - is another matter). Zombies game was good and way more balanced, since it essentially was based on psychology and predicting (and exploiting) human behavior.

Worst of all is that not all rules were disclosed from the start. This was the case with kick the can and with the last game as well. The latter was not that good to begin with, since it was also based on luck (rolling the dice), and since it was used to show the past and potential futures of characters that I, personally, did not care about at all. If those scenes were removed the season probably would have been 1 episode shorter.

It also took at least 2 things from Squid Game, and both felt... Ok, maybe 1 of them did make a bit more sense, but the other one did not mesh that good, in the end. On the other hand, maybe it's Squid Game, that borrowed ideas from Alice? Regardless, the ending still suggests a potential continuation, but I do not think I would care about it.
